IAF/ISO Amendment of February 2024: Addition of consideration of climate change in standard requirements 4.1 and 4.2 of various management systems
IAF/ISO Amendment of February 2024: Addition of consideration of climate change in standard requirements 4.1 and 4.2 of various management systems
04/03/2024 - 11:58
A joint statement by the IAF and ISO organisations dated 22 February 2024 states that, with immediate effect, climate change should be considered:
As a possible major management system issue (standard requirement 4.1 of the HLS)
What expectations the parties deemed relevant to the management system have in this regard (standard requirement 4.2 of the HLS)
Specifically, BQA will check the application of this amendment during the upcoming audits for the management systems:
ISO 9001:2015
ISO 14001:2015
ISO 27001:2022
ISO 45001:2018
ISO 50001:2018
Indeed, the impact of climate change on the performance of a management system may vary from system to system. The relevance of climate change to the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system is not necessarily the same as its relevance to the ISO 14001:2015 environmental management system, for example.
