The ISO organization has decided to initiate the development of 2 standards related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
a certifiable management system standard ISO 53001 that defines the requirements for the Sustainable Development Goals when an organization:
needs to demonstrate and strengthen its performance in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals
wishes to manage its responsibilities related to the pillars of sustainability in a systematic way
an associated standard as a "guidance for use" that will initially be developed as ISO/PAS 53002 to later be transformed into an international standard
In line with the policy around the organization's Sustainable Development Goals, the intended outcome of a Sustainable Development Goals management system is to:
Improve the performance of the organization.
